Dan Reeder proves that reading newspapers is nowhere near as spectacular as sculpting them. It’s no wonder people call him The Monster Man! “I made my first dragon when I was twenty-two years old,” Dan writes on his website. “I’m now sixty-seven.
” Reeder created his first-ever monster along with his fifth-grade students. “I wanted my kids to do an art project that I knew would be successful. And I wanted it to be messy and take some effort. Paper mache monsters fit the bill perfectly.” He developed a unique variation of the craft, combining paper mache with cloth and glue makes Reeder’s project a lot stronger.
