This cake was under so much pressure that it crystalized into this beautiful amethyst. Or did it? The work of cake-master Rachel, of Intricate Icings, this geode cake is made completely out of edible sugar for the First Look Events at Moss Denver. Rachel explains how she made the cake:
“This cake took about 16 hands-on hours to create with several more hours of planning involved prior to making the cake,” Rachel told Bored Panda.
“I was given several pieces of inspiration to draw ideas from, including actual geodes, a beautiful illustration, and a variety of table decor items like plates, chargers, and geometric floral arrangements. I knew I wanted to create a show stopping cake and use the geode as the focal point creating an awe-inspiring visual experience for the guests.”Be sure to check the end of the post for our exclusive interview!

“This is my first cake to go viral and I couldn’t be more excited. It an honor to have my work seen and appreciated by so many people.”
