We all tend to admire other people who in one way or another influence our lives. Let it be our families, friends, or those who you’ve never met but find really appealing because of what they do. And those people are usually the ones who keep us entertained with their awesome acting skills, beautiful songs, intelligent appearance in public that usually makes us forget they’re just one of us.
This Instagram account called Velvet Coke brings our beloved celebrities closer to the earth. It collects old, rarely seen photographs of famous people mostly just living their everyday lives and takes us back decades ago. A certain kind of sentiments and interesting facts that accompanies some of those pictures brings back the nostalgia of the good old days, and almost 370k followers on Instagram find it hard to handle.

This was the first major film production of this play to actually cast leading actors who were close to the ages of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Franco Zeffirelli needed to get special permission to show teenaged Olivia Hussey topless in one scene.

In 1992, her grandmother Cynthia advised Amy to go to the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School so she could learn tap dancing and improve her vocals. She attended it on Saturdays for four years and founded a rap group called Sweet’n’Sour. She was expelled at 14 for “not applying herself” and piercing her nose.

The images of Marilyn Monroe by Eve Arnold from the set of the film The Misfits over the summer of 1960 perhaps are among the most revealing and poignant captured of the doomed star
“At photo sessions, she was in total control,” the photographer later recalled. “She manipulated everything – me, the camera. She knew a lot about cameras and I had never met anyone who could make them respond the way she did. So she got what she wanted, because she wasn’t under all the kinds of pressure she felt during a film-shoot: remembering her lines, enduring hours of preparation. With me, she was in charge of the situations.”

Alicia Silverstone for Rolling Stone By Peggy Sirota, 1995
“Alicia Silverstone, the prettiest girl in town, the next big thing, the star of nine movies in the past two years, an actress who with her appearance in Aerosmith’s recent videos helped revive the band, the star of three upcoming films (The Babysitter, True Crime and Le Nouveau Monde) and the summer smash Clueless, and she’s stranded on a hill – a knocked-out, dreamy-eyed little Rapunzel waiting for some spectacle grand enough to allow her to let her hair down. “If this is the life of a star-let,” she says, sighing, “it’s a yawn.”

“Paramount had organized a party for me. All of cinema was there, it was incredible. And then comes in Jayne Mansfield, the last one to come. For me, that was when it got amazing. . . . She came right for my table. She knew everyone was watching. She sat down. And now, she was barely . . . Listen. Look at the picture. Where are my eyes? I’m staring at her nipples because I am afraid they are about to come onto my plate. In my face you can see the fear. I’m so frightened that everything in her dress is going to blow—BOOM!—and spill all over the table.”

When Lady Diana took her children to Disneyland, she made them wait in line like everybody else
This wasn’t the only time she wanted them to live a regular life; Diana took the boys to get hamburgers at McDonald’s, rode the tube and the bus, and let them wear jeans and baseball caps. “She very much wanted to get us to see the rawness of real life. And I can’t thank her enough for that, ’cause reality bites in a big way, and it was one of the biggest lessons I learned is, just how lucky and privileged so many of us are — particularly myself,” William told ABC.

Jim Carroll was unaware of who Leonardo DiCaprio was at first. “When they first told me it was gonna be Leo, I didn’t know who he was,” Carroll told The Los Angeles Times. “If they’d said the kid from Growing Pains (1985), I would have known, because when I first saw that kid, I said, ‘This kid has a lot of presence.’ I said, ‘That kid is very pretty. He’s gonna do well.'”

Mike Tyson went and bought some tigers. Precisely, three tigers for $144,000
Each of his three bengals cost a reported $70,000 (£48,000) to buy, but he was supposedly spending even more on feeding and keeping them. He eventually had to give them up, but not before one of them had headbutted one of his gold teeth out when he tried to give her a kiss.

Jack Nicholson & Anjelica Houston’s on and off relationship lasted about 17 years, from the moment she met him at a home party

Audrey Hepburn
As many of you know, Audrey Hepburn was a beautiful lady and a well known style icon. BUT, there is more than that. She aspired to be a better human being, loved spreading kindness and was an independent strong girl. She couldn’t be a bystander watching the Nazis’ torturing. Although her father was a Nazi supporter, Audrey used to sneak food to the Dutch resistance. At the same time, she was training ballet hard performed in secret recitals for the Dutch nationalistic cause. Later, she managed to volunteer and teach the refugees dancing. Sadly, she was suffering from medical ailments too, but was strong enough to keep volunteering. While being cast for Sauce Piquante shortly afterward, she would perform 12 times a week, while attending classes at a university in London and modelling on the side. And that’s just one part of all the good things Audrey did, among helping children too!
