The Collie escaped from Carole’s friend’s house from Spilsby, Lincolnshire, and went missing for weeks.
“We didn’t hear anything and I thought, that’s it, he’s dead,” Fossett told The Telegraph.Devastated, Fossett then decided to launch a Facebook campaign to be reunited with her pooch. She immediately received three calls from around the country, saying Casey had been spotted on his journey, yet still, nobody was able to catch him. Then one day, Carole got a call from Newark and Sherwood District Council, who told her that dog wardens had found Casey at a car park in Nottinghamshire. “I just burst into tears. I can’t describe it,” said Carole. “When your dog’s been missing for two months you just don’t believe you’re going to see him again.”
Casey, whose weight dropped from 59 lbs to 35 lbs during the time he was missing, was overjoyed to be back together with Carole.
