At the end of July, I launched a new educational foundation called FLYTE (The Foundation for Learning and Youth Travel Education). The foundation raises money to fund overseas trips for underserved high schools so students could see the real world applications of what they were learning in school,

“You’re not that cutting edge on your advice. It’s pretty run of the mill. You also are very obviously biased toward thirtyish, white, upper-middle-class Americans who want to pretend to be bohemians.” This quote is from last month’s reader survey. It cut deep. I stared at it for a while,
