British artist Ann Carrington uses sculpture to give new meaning to the everyday. She transforms dull metal utensils into organic floral bouquets that continue to blossom.
Carrington (who is also an ambassador for the United Nations) gathers hundreds of spoons, knives, and forks and masterfully recreates the shapes of roses and tulips. Her pieces look so realistic, you might even think that they’re real flowers, only covered with silver paint. These sculptures were part of Ann’s solo exhibition ‘Pop goes the Weasel!’ at the Royal College of Art in London. Who knew that utensils were made not only for eating!
